My Shit Did NOT Stay Together (w04)

I’m late posting this week because I had an all-day meeting that went through dinner, and I was too exhausted to finish this up before bed last night.

Last week wasn’t the best. Then, I blogged and felt better because I focused on the things in my control. (I cannot stress enough how brain-dumping weekly here feeds my soul in ways I can’t explain.)

Anyway, the very next day (so last Thursday), I went to work to prepare for classes as they started this week, and my phone was stolen!

Keeping My Shit Together (w03)

Well, this past week has been a doozy. From lower back pain to parenting woes, my daily goal was simply to keep my shit together.

Don’t get me wrong, there were some fun highlights over the last 7 days, but there was also quite a bit of pain and tears mixed in.

Blogging Benefits (w02)

I’m starting this post early because it took me longer than I expected last week.

It’s crazy how out of practice I am with blogging. Thinking back to my heyday, I posted daily and sometimes on multiple blogs with two young kids at home! It was a different time, for sure.

Anyway, I’m here to recap my week while focusing on what I already see as the benefits of my commitment to the blog this year.

2025 – Week 1

That’s it. That’s all I have for a post title because I am not letting the fact that I can’t come up with a clever title prevent me from posting today.

They say, “Perfection is the enemy of progress.” Right? So, I’m here to blog even though it’s not gonna be perfect.

Looking back at this first week in 2025, it’s already been a doozy. Let me see if I can recap…

25 Goals for 2025

Well, hello, old friend!

I won’t bore you with any details on why I haven’t been blogging. I mean, besides the fact that blogging is dead, and 2024 was quite the year personally, professionally, and emotionally.

I’m here to do what I do… look forward, set goals, and get out of this damn overthinking head of mine.

On Creating Things

I’m coming to you live while proctoring my last exam of the semester!

Well, I mean, maybe I’m exaggerating here as you won’t be reading this “live,” but it’s always more fun for me to write in the present tense like I’m talking, so that’s what I do. I guess you can say it helps me be more creative. Honestly, I never enjoyed writing until I approached it this way, and, well, here I am, writing.

USA Masters Weightlifting National Champ? What?

Last week, I took a few days off work, traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and competed in the 2024 USA Master’s National Weightlifting meet.

Never in a million years did I think this would be the result.

Why, Hello, 2024!

So far, you have been a hoot, and we are only a month in!

Let’s start with the holidays. It’s been a few months since I posted an update.

First, having a son in college who comes home for a month is a whole new stage of parenting I was unprepared for.

Road Trip Highlights

I’m going with highlights here because I cannot possibly begin to sift through all the emotions and thoughts in my head right now. Part of me would love to do a complete recap of our entire trip and share all the fun details of the last dinner party I hosted, but I simply don’t have the mental capacity.
