Well, hello, old friend!
I won’t bore you with any details on why I haven’t been blogging. I mean, besides the fact that blogging is dead, and 2024 was quite the year personally, professionally, and emotionally.
I’m here to do what I do… look forward, set goals, and get out of this damn overthinking head of mine.
Earlier today, I took a hike with this guy and had a bit of an epiphany.

My social media usage has been sporadic the last few months on purpose. I tried to cut the social media cord before, but I have so many relationships I want to maintain, and frankly, I enjoy it.
It’s also, however, a major time suck. So, a few months ago, I installed an app blocker to limit my usage, which was a huge success. Seeing how many times a day I would unconsciously open Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit was eye-opening. After a few days, I fell into a more appropriate usage cycle, spending way less time mindlessly scrolling.
I missed posting, however. I enjoy sharing things, and I hate that I can’t seem to do it responsibly in the current state of social media.
So, I’m reclaiming my little corner of the internet and doing something that always brought me joy… blogging.
2025’s Goals
These are in no particular order. They are just a list of things I want to focus on this year.
- Blog Weekly.
- Paint More. Don’t overthink it.
- Make a new handmade pasta monthly.
- Hike at least twice a month.
- Perform one unassisted dip.
- Perform five strict pull-ups.
- Handstand walk.
- Take at least three yoga classes a month.
- Make homemade sourdough bread.
- Take the kids to Iceland (planning is in the works!).
- Fix the holes in my house (long story, lots of plumbing issues this year).
- Continue my Spanish Streak on Duolingo (I’m on day 1,231!!).
- Take a Spanish class in person.
- Plan something special for The Husband’s 50th birthday!
- Snatch 125lbs.
- Compete in at least one weightlifting meet.
- Walk a minimum of a half-mile daily with Marsh and, preferably, with the Husband, but I can’t base my goal on him.
- Track my movie-watching on Letterboxd.
- Keep my citrus trees alive! (I have a lemon and a lime tree I named Laverne and Shirley. Laverne is not doing too well after a disastrous root rot issue this fall, but we are doing our best.)
- Host an extended family dinner monthly.
- Clean out and organize my closet and drawers.
- Thrift more and purchase no brand-new clothes.
- Take daily supplements more consistently.
- Reduce alcohol consumption to once or twice a month max.
- Cook one new recipe/dish a month.
I hope to make Wednesday my blog day, but I’m not committing because I know I’ll need some flexibility.
I’m trying to balance realistic yet motivating goals.
So, I guess I’ll be back next week!
Happy New Year!

Yay! Love seeing your posts in my inbox and I look forward to seeing more of them. Happy New Year!
Wow what a great list of goals. You really inspire me. I love your blog. 🥰
Hurrah! Always look forward to your blog posts.
I’d be interested in some of the ‘Whys’ for your goals.
I hope the New Year treats you and your family with kindness.
Making my list now! Love this. Thanks for the motivation!! Wanna facetime while we bury ourselves in our closets…. lol
That actually sounds fun! LMAO
Yay, I’m glad you’re back and thanks for sharing your goals!
Thanks! I’m glad to be back!
I love that you’re back here, Roni! Awesome goals for the year. My husband is particularly impressed with the new pasta every MONTH?! He got a new pasta machine for Christmas, so we might a few here too.
LOVE it! Yes, I want to make more pastas and breads at home. It just sounds fun! 🙂
Uh oh, someone’s coming for my crown!
Happy New Year and happy to see you blogging again, since that was how we “met.”
I’m so happy to see your post, Roni! I always enjoy hearing what you’re up to. I like how you’re willing to try new things and that opens up my mind to new choices for me as well. I just created a WordPress account and I’m going to give blogging a shot as well. Hope you have a wonderful 2025! Wishing you and your beautiful family lots of joy in the New Year!
I love it! I will follow along. Can’t wait to see your blog. I always found it fun and beneficial to journal online.
Love your blog. I relate to your list of goals. Thank you for sharing them. Please continue to blog. You are so relatable.
I’m so glad you’re back and I’m already looking forward to the future post. I love social media but it seems so superficial compared to blogging. You can’t get the same connection with short reels.
It’s a breath of fresh air to read your post and your 25 goals for this new year. Many of your goals I share. I am another follower from before you had the “toddler” and I’ve enjoyed all you’ve accomplished. I’m looking forward to your blogs and all
the new adventures.
Love it all. Here’s to a great 2025!! Thanks Roni xo
