A Must-Share Pasta Recipe and Random Life Updates

Pasta alla Norcina

I will kick off this post with a fantastic recipe I made last night because that’s probably why you are here.

If you want to read my boring life update (because it’s been MONTHS since I’ve blogged), it’s below the recipe card.

7 Days – 7 Photos – 1 Big Feeling-Old Vent

It’s been a week since my last post? How is that possible? And how is May on the outs already? Didn’t May just start? Come to think of it, I’m not even sure it’s really 2022 – like a year ago, it was 2019, and 5 years ago, was like 2015, so yea.

And wait. a. minute.

Is my baby going on a tour of his middle school tomorrow? This kid was just born like… what? And his brother? His brother is GOING TO BE A SENIOR?!

I can’t.

I’ve been feeling very old lately.

Weekend Cooking and Geocaching Adventures

I would have loved to write this last night but come Sunday nights, I’m exhausted! Especially now that the weather is finally starting to break and we are doing more outside.

This weekend two things dominated my time, cooking and geocaching.

Catching Snatches and Throwing Avocados

Wednesdays are my busy days. I have three face-to-face classes back to back, and it’s exhausting, in a good way!

I’d much rather be engaged all day than work solo in my office. Plus, the students have more work than I do with the semester wrapping up. My role shifts to more of a help desk position. Teaching technical classes and introduction to programming means I’m constantly problem-solving.

Wednesday is also one of my favorite days at the gym. We call it Weightifint Wednesday, and today was snatch day!

You Like Me, You Really Like Me!

I. Am. Blown. Away.

On a whim today, I decided to reactivate my old blog Facebook page. I did NOT expect to reconnect with so many people who used to read my blog!

I felt a little like Sally Fields. (Only you fellow old people will get that reference.)

A Blind Sommelier Deathmatch!

I wanted to share the details of our latest Dinner Party all week, but somehow, I’m even busier when I’m NOT working. How is that even possible?

It’s spring break in these parts, and I’ve been taking advantage as per my monthly goals. I’ve gotten lots of stuff accomplished around the house. I’ve taken The 11-Year-Old to the Aquarium and the Science Center. And I’ve been working on a few other things I can’t share quite yet. I’ll just leave you with this link.

Anyways, on to the dinner party!

For the Love of Pockets and Kale

I have been learning to enjoy lazy Sundays. It’s hard for me to NOT be doing something. I know. I’m crazy. The Husband tells me all the time.

He’s a relaxer through and through and has no problem just lounging around all day, in and out of naps, watching random things on television.

I can not. No, really. I’m like, BAD at it. I find it hard to relax if there are things that need to get done, and there is always something that needs to be done!

Weekly Dinners and Monthly Goals

I recently confessed on IG about the joy I get from cooking after a long day of work. Even though I share lots of food photos, I often fear people will find it annoying or think I’m gloating, but I’m just super passionate about it!

I stopped blogging about food, so social media has become my only outlet, but I’d like to start writing about it again. The landscape of food blogging has changed so much, and I don’t have the time nor interest to even try to do it professionally anymore.

Which has been holding me back. Why can’t I just talk about food the way I want to?

This is going sound weird, but when I saw this old video of Arnold, it inspired me…

Out Like a Lion

“In like a lion, out like a lamb.”

That’s what they say about March, right?

Well, no.

Not this year.

It’s been cold as hell out there, and I am over it. Summer can’t come soon enough.

A Valentine’s Day Sommelier Deathmatch!

Happy V Day!

I was hoping to post something between this dinner party and the last one but with classes in full swing my schedule is jam-packed and I’m exhausted at the end of the day.

That’s not to say I’m struggling because I actually don’t feel like I’m struggling for the first time in a long time. I’m just your typical busy working mom still trying to carve out time for things I enjoy.

One of those things is putting together dinner party menus and cooking for my friends. Both of which I did this past Saturday!
