A Marvelous Mother’s Week! (w19)

I’m having difficulty gathering my thoughts because it’s been a hell of a week, in a good way.

First, work is absolutely crazy right now. I have overextended myself as I do, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. In addition to wrapping up my six credit classes and submitting final grades, I am preparing for two days of Excel training next week, and I’m presenting at our professional development day on how to engage students in online courses. Once I get through next week, things will calm down. I’m just in overdrive at the moment.

Second, this weekend was awesome! First, my mom decided to join me at the gym on Saturday, and we had a blast.

She kicked ass in the workout! We did deadlifts and a workout with step-ups and kettlebell swings. My coach helped her scale everything, and I loved that she got to spend some time with me at my happy place.

When I got home, I made her a loaf of Cinnamon Raisin Sourdough for Mother’s Day.

Then, that night, I took her out to dinner, just her and me, and we chatted away. I think we both needed that.

On Sunday, I spend more time with her and my brother. We had an early dinner at her place. The boys didn’t come because I’m not about to make people do things they don’t want to do on Mother’s Day. It’s my day, and I’m not arguing.

Well, these two boys totally stepped up! They ended up coming over on their own, and even though they were late, I appreciate that they made the effort. Then, when I got home, I realized the kitchen was clean!

Best. Mother’s. Day. Ever!

The Husband took these pictures of us when we got home, and I love the series. I was making Ev laugh so he would smile and show his braces.

I can’t believe I have two nearly full-grown boys on my hands. Ry is wrapping up his job training program this week and starts his first full-time job on Monday. Ev’s got another month of middle school. I’m just nodding my head in disbelief.

Okay, I’ve got to go. Survivor is coming on, and Duolingo is yelling at me to extend my streak.

Oh! I did post once on Substack this week, too. It’s a few of my favorite quotes from yoga.

Hope you had a great week!
