2025 Goals Journal

Lost an Hour Gained Some Sanity (w10)

This past Sunday morning, while lying in bed completely oblivious to the fact that it was “spring ahead,” I found myself pondering the insanity of the world, worrying about my kids, and debating whether to get up and go to yoga.

It was then I decided to take a bath.

Yes, at 7 am (I would soon realize it was really 6) I drew myself a bath and mindlessly scrolled through amusing TikTok videos.

Then I decided today was the day. I would skip yoga and finally tackle one of my loftier 2025 goals: organizing and purging my disastrous wardrobe.

I started with the drawers, pruning and folding as I went.

Then it was off to the closet!

How embarrassing is this?

I’ve been living out of piles of clothes for like a year now.

Half the stuff in there is things I either don’t like, don’t fit, or are old AF. I literally found a skirt that I wore BEFORE I HAD KIDS. I mean, my oldest is nineteen and this thing was from my college days. (I should have snapped a picture.)

Regardless, we blasted music and got to work.

Oh, that’s right… WE!

The Husband was TOTALLY game to organize his side as well, and I appreciated the company.

After a few hours, we both took a deep breath of relief as we enjoyed our newly organized room and closet!

We now have five bags of clothes to donate and huge smiles every time we walk into our bedroom. I needed that bit of sanity desperately. We have to control the things in our control, amiright?

Now, the new goal is to maintain this organization! That’s the real struggle.

In other news…

Painting

I got a little painting in this week, nothing worth sharing, just some practice pages in my watercolor journal.

Sourdough

I baked some bread!

I have tried sourdough baguettes a few times now, these were by far my best, but I still suck at shaping them. As you can see, the bottoms blew out.

No one seemed to mind. They devoured it anyway.

Gym

I’m making significant progress on my pull ups and dips! I’m hoping to nail both those goals before the summer.

My lifting is, well, meh, mainly because I haven’t been focused on it. I will start a new Olympic Lifting training cycle in two weeks. I just need to figure out what event I’ll be doing this year since I’m not headed to the Nationals again.

The Kids…

I am ending this post with this little nugget before updating my yearly goals:

The next time I post I will no longer have a 13-year-old. Little Bean’s birthday is sneaking up on us!

By next week I will be the proud mom of a 14-year-old and 19-year-old. WTF? That’s all I can say about that.
