Hi all! I’m checking in a day late this week, but I’m still here!
During our daily walk last night after Jeopardy!, I realized I hadn’t posted, and I made the decision to let it go and post today instead.
I came to that conclusion after working all day on the new WYCWYC Substack and… ready for it… workbook!!
Carla and I have teamed up to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of WYCWYC, and we’ve been working feverishly on a companion workbook AND planning the return of the podcast. I am more than excited. It’s giving me 2015 vibes, and I’m all about it right now.
Anyway, enough about that. I’ll definitely share news as we make progress. We both work and have families… so, you know, we’re WYCWYC’ing it. 🙂
On to the photos! I’ve decided to let the photos drive this post because I have at least one for each day of the week since last week’s post.
First up… A Day Date!

Last Thursday, The Husband and I went on a day date to one of our favorite spots in town and enjoyed a bottle (or two) of wine. We talked and talked and talked. It was so nice.
I’m old enough to start dreaming about retirement and hanging out with this guy in our old age.
Fancy Friday!
On Friday, I was hoping to make homemade pasta, but the day got away from me. So, I settled on store-bought pasta, but I still made a new-to-me dish!

I posted all about this dish on Substack with details on how I made it.
In House Competition
This past Saturday, my gym hosted its annual in-house anniversary competition, and my team won the scaled division!

We had the best team. All of us have been doing CrossFit-style workouts for a really long time, so we were seasoned and worked really well together. We’ve already decided to do it again next year!
Homemade Pasta and Hiking Boots!
On Sunday, I took The 14-Year-Old shopping to FINALLY get him a pair of hiking boots for our Iceland trip that is LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY!

It’s time I really start wrapping my head around this trip. I’m nervous, and there’s a lot to prepare, as we are taking a 4-day hiking trip!
Sunday ended with some homemade pasta making! I snuck this in just to reach my goal of making pasta once a month.

It was probably my best batch yet!
Lemon Blueberry Sourdough
On Monday, I visited a friend and brought her a loaf of Lemon Blueberry Sourdough.

Sourdough baking is funny. I really enjoy it, but I’m terrified of giving away loaves because I usually love what I bake, but I also know it’s not the best bread in the world. KWIM?
TEENS!
I have two hysterical pictures of The Boys but it feels wrong to share them without their permission. Instead you get The 14-Year-Old’s summer reading book for his English Class.

I’m glad they chose this. I think Ev will respond to it. He’s a pretty motivated kid.
That’s it!
That’s all I got this week. Funny enough I didn’t take any pictures yesterday which is a testimate to how busy I was and why I didn’t post.
Anyway, great week and I’m feeling WAY better than I did last week. To those who reached out, please know I appreciate you so much! It’s validating to know I’m not alone when I feel that way.
