That is about the only way to describe my day.
I’m in the last few weeks of the semester, and today was dominated by classes and meetings. As soon as I got home, The 11-Year-Old begged me to take him to the river.
I’ll be honest. I didn’t want to go. It was a long day. I was tired. But it’s so close, and he loves it so much, I couldn’t say no.
So I brought a chair, picked up my mom, and we sat on the sore while he frolicked and relaxed in the water.

It was worth it.
It’s always worth it.
When we got back, The Teen and I cooked dinner. It was his night, and we planned this meal together.

He wanted to make wings with an Asian-inspired sauce which he did solo, and it was terrific. We paired them with BBQ potatoes wedges and bacon green beans, his favorite.
It ended up being a great combination and a great dinner!
I may be MIA for the next few days. Tomorrow I’m giving all three boys a haircut after work. Thursday night, we go see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Friday, I have an excessively busy day of meetings, and then The Husband and I are off for our weekend away to Luray, Va, for our anniversary. When we come back Monday, I kick off my last week of classes, and we’re doing dinner at my Mom’s for Mother’s day. Then Tuesday, The 11-Year-Old has a concert at school.
I’m in deep breath mode. This is all amazingly awesome stuff, but I’m exhausted just thinking about it.
