I don’t have much in me today, and I feel a little out of sorts. Work has been ramping up as I prepare for the start of fall classes. I did get a little painting and a little guitar in, but not with the consistency I’d like.
Right now I’m waiting for my tea to cool so I can make a new batch of kombucha. My first batch was months ago, and then I made a little SCOBY hotel so I could brew it again when inspiration struck, which it did a few weeks ago, and now I have flavored kombucha in the fridge! My best batch yet by far!
I’ve been using the flavored syrups I made with my fruit scraps, and it’s working really well. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, check out @WastelesslyDelicious. I’m reposting all my food ideas there so I can archive them more easily than on my personal account.)
I’ve also been experimenting with using my sourdough starter to make really hearty whole-grain bread, and I am loving it! I forgot to take a photo of this week’s loaf, but it came out great. I’m using milk, whole-wheat flour, flaxseed, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds.
On the training front (see photo above), I’ve been so happy to get back to the gym consistently. I’ve been a little off the last three weeks. Next Saturday I have a competition, and I’m looking forward to it. I won’t have a coach with me, so I’m a little nervous, but also excited to get back on the platform.
Oh! And that handstand photo was from this morning! I held it for a good 5 seconds! Definitely a PR!
Besides that, I wanted to share my favorite photo from the beach this year.

Those are my two boys playing pool. We went to a beach bar I knew had pool tables, and just the three of us pretty much had the place to ourselves. I don’t think anything makes my heart happier than just hanging out with my kids doing fun stuff! Even thinking about it brings a little tear to my eye.
Ok, I’m off to check the tea temp and head to bed.
Here I thought I had nothing to write about, but once I get going, it just flew out of me. I didn’t want the overhead of checking in on each goal today, but I think I touched the most important ones. I’ll run through them next week if I have more energy.
Hope you are having a good week!

One of the harder things for me to remember is when I am down or more tired than normal or stressed out, that those icky feelings will pass and life will go on. However, I often forget to tell myself this until things eventually DO improve! Sounds to me, like you are WYC-WYC-ing. π
I was and still am! lol
