I am in the same boat as last week. I literally do not have the capacity to do what I want to do with these weekly blog posts and revisit all my goals. Even thinking about it feels like too much.
But I’m here! Because if there is anything I’m good at, it’s doing What I Can When I Can (thanks for the reminder, Sherri!).
Work is monopolizing my time and energy these days. I am actively teaching five classes. Three of them are face-to-face. Two of them are mostly high school students. Two of them are fully online. All of them are exhausting. And I have two more that start next week!
The feature photo above is a sticker one of my students gave me last week, and it totally made my day.
I am doing my best to focus on the wins, which there are many. I have some very engaged and active students this year, but it’s not the majority. We are a month into the semester, and I just can’t maintain the amount of energy it requires when I don’t get much back in the classroom.
But then an online student will email and ask an interesting question or thank me for a well-designed course, and it helps keep me going. I can’t remember if I shared this, but I literally cried in my office that day.
The only other thing keeping me sane is my training. I’m still not 100%, but I am progressing, and today I accomplished something I never thought possible!
That felt great!
As for the guitar, I haven’t been practicing every day, BUT I never let more than a day go by without at least playing my little chord game. And honestly, when I do it, I find it very relaxing.
I did squeeze in one #SaladTime to remind myself to eat more greens, and it helped! I have eaten a salad every day this week!
Oh! And I did get a chance to make some homemade pasta on Sunday, which was really fun. Ry and I made quite possibly our best chicken parm dinner yet!

Okay, that’s all I’ve got in me tonight. I still want to take Marsh for a walk, and I need to get some sleep so I can get my last day of training in before work tomorrow, since I can’t go Saturday (I’m going away this weekend).
I just want to add that, yet again, I feel better after writing this. What a great reminder to get out of my head. It’s always better when I express my thoughts and remind myself that doing what I can when I can is enough.
Oh, and real fast… I retired both my Substack and my old Facebook page. I’m trying to reduce my digital spaces.
