I don’t have much energy to process or write right now, but I wanted to pop in to keep up with my weekly goal.
Classes start Monday, and I’ve been battling some back/neck pain, digestive issues, and sleep issues.
I’ve still made it to the gym every day this week, mostly doing physical therapy-style workouts just to keep my back and neck moving. It helps so much.
OMG, I just realized I didn’t share my weightlifting competition from this past weekend! I did great!! WAY better than I expected, and it was such a boost of confidence.
This is what I shared on IG:
Doing it solo with no coach also boosted my confidence. I was so proud of myself.
Other than that, I’m keeping up with my other goals as best I can.
Here’s my abbreviated goal update…
Salad consumption is good. I made the most amazing tomato-pineapple salad yesterday and shared it on IG as well:
I had another serving today for lunch. I’ll bring the other to work tomorrow.
Oh! I also made a soup, and that was lunch the first two days of the week. I also recorded that:
On the sourdough front, I baked a loaf today that I made last night. It was a Flax-Orange loaf, and it came out great!
Yesterday I was home alone again in the evening (this is a growing phenomenon that, as the parent of older kids, I am getting used to, and I LIKE IT). So I painted a little and had fun learning the guitar chords for Jolene in honor of Dolly Parton.
I would be lying if I didn’t say I was stressed about the start of the semester. I’m about to have 100+ new people in my life to manage and motivate, and the thought of it is exhausting right now.
I tried to explain this to The Husband last night… It’s not that I don’t like teaching. I absolutely LOVE teaching. The problem is I don’t want to teach people who don’t want to learn. I teach a college-level course, and my position is simple: if you don’t want to be there, then don’t take the class. Unfortunately, that is not usually the case, so I’m trying to get into the right mindset to motivate my students without draining all my energy. To be frank, I don’t want to give my energy to people who don’t appreciate it.
WOW, I have no idea where all that came from. I really just sat down to make a real quick I-don’t-have-time-to-post post, and here I am therapy writing.
Aaaaaaand this is why I committed to the blog. Now I’m smiling, and that’s always a good thing.
I’m off to take Marsh for a walk. Hope you are well.
