Letting Go of the Result (w42)

This week, after sharing my lift videos with my online weightlifting coach, he said something I know, but tend to forget.

“How can you let go of the result and just put energy into it.”

After he said it, I let out a pretty big sigh.

I’ve learned to bring this concept into most areas of my life, but I needed the reminder. I mean, it’s similar to the “enjoy the process” concept, right? But the way he phrased it felt more powerful because I’m all about putting energy into things at the moment.

Energy Into Training

I don’t think I’ve ever been as motivated as I am right now not to train.

After about a year and a half of feeling stuck, I am finally making progress again. I pulled back on my intensity and started focusing more on recovery and overall balance, and it’s paying off.

That’s a still from the video of my first-ever freestanding handstand, which I have been working on (and off) for years.

Next week starts competition prep for the VIRUS Weightlifting Finals & UMWF World Championships, and I’m psyched!

Energy into Painting

I’m really enjoying painting at the moment. I find fall a fun time to paint for some reason. I get all cozy in my house, play music, make a mug of tea, and just chill.

I painted this bridal shower card for one of my Mom’s friends yesterday.

Energy into Food

I have been KILLING it in soup and salad department lately. I make a big salad almost every day, and I’m on my 4th week of making soup for lunches. This week was roasted red pepper and tomato, but I didn’t take a photo.

I do, however, have a photo of my latest sourdough experiments!

I’ve been adding apple and pear puree into the dough and swirling in some pecan and cinnamon.

So good!

Energy into The Family

Thanks to my brother, who reached out last week, the family went out to lunch this past weekend. That’s my boys sitting outside “playing” with their cousin through the window.

It was so cute.

We are going to get together for Halloween too. I’m excited.

This guy also requires a lot of energy….

He is working on a fun project, and he sucked me in. I will have to share more about that later, becuase… Survivor! And I still need to take Marsh for a walk. He’s currently just staring at me because I’m late.

Until next week!
