I originally planned on writing this post last week over the break, but time just got away from me. I don’t know what happened. It was Christmas Eve and then… BOOM!
Even typing the title feels strange. Who makes soups in single-servings? Isn’t the whole idea behind soup a big pot of awesomeness to soothe your soul and warm your heart on cold winter nights?
In March of this year, I started running.
Last Friday, I hosted a small dinner party with two of our closest friends. It was a much-needed date-night-in considering we really can’t get out.
- Cocktail: Candy Apple Whiskey Sour
- Appetizer: Loaded Sweet Potato Skins
- Salad: Pear, Maple Pecans, and Arugula Salad with Fig Vinaigrette
- Main: Bacon-Wrapped Filet Mignon over Pureed Sweet Potato and Roasted Broccolini
- Dessert: Ricotta Apple Fritters
Happy Election day! Even though it doesn’t feel too happy. Frankly, I’m avoiding the news and will be watching some cheese horror flick instead. The results will be the same if I watch or not, so why put myself through the roller coaster ride?
Anyhoo, yesterday I was inspired by our leftover Halloween candy and made myself a Peanut Butter Cup Cocktail. It took a few attempts (which I didn’t mind), and I have settled on this combination of ingredients. I’m enjoying the one in the photograph as I write this recipe up.
I can’t help it. I need a little corner on this thing we call the world wide web. Since returning to the classroom a few years ago, I’ve come to realize there are quite a few people who don’t know what a website is. Everything is app-based, and the idea of a “blog” seems to be diminishing. Time is marching on, as it does, and with every semester that passes, I find myself saying things like, “in my day…” and “when I was younger…” more and more.
