Weekly Dinners and Monthly Goals

I recently confessed on IG about the joy I get from cooking after a long day of work. Even though I share lots of food photos, I often fear people will find it annoying or think I’m gloating, but I’m just super passionate about it!

I stopped blogging about food, so social media has become my only outlet, but I’d like to start writing about it again. The landscape of food blogging has changed so much, and I don’t have the time nor interest to even try to do it professionally anymore.

Which has been holding me back. Why can’t I just talk about food the way I want to?

This is going sound weird, but when I saw this old video of Arnold, it inspired me…

Out Like a Lion

“In like a lion, out like a lamb.”

That’s what they say about March, right?

Well, no.

Not this year.

It’s been cold as hell out there, and I am over it. Summer can’t come soon enough.

A Valentine’s Day Sommelier Deathmatch!

Happy V Day!

I was hoping to post something between this dinner party and the last one but with classes in full swing my schedule is jam-packed and I’m exhausted at the end of the day.

That’s not to say I’m struggling because I actually don’t feel like I’m struggling for the first time in a long time. I’m just your typical busy working mom still trying to carve out time for things I enjoy.

One of those things is putting together dinner party menus and cooking for my friends. Both of which I did this past Saturday!

Our First Sommelier Deathmatch

My dinner party friends and I have been upping our dinner party ideas for years now. We used to go out and enjoy sampling menus with wine pairings and trying new restaurants.

Then five years or so ago, we started cooking for each other. It started simple enough, but over time when you get a couple of foodies together, well, things can start to get out of hand.

Roni’s Rum Cream

Click here to get straight to the recipe. I hate reading too.

Last year I still had a pipe dream that I’d start a new food blog and spend my days experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes and cocktail ideas.

Then I started down the path and remembered how much work it would require, and, well, I’m not willing to quite the stability of my full-time job at the moment. So, here we are, inconsistently blogging when time allows.

Anyway, let me tell you about this Rum Cream!

Formulating a Plan of Attack for my Classes

Hey! Look at this. Two posts in the same week! I’m on a roll.

Actually, let’s discuss that for a minute. I AM on a roll. I’ve been posting more on TikTok, my brain is constantly churning with ideas, and I feel a bit more capably? adjusted? balanced? (I’m not sure what word to use here) than I have in months.

November Reflections

I’m doing it!

I’m sneaking in this post before the end of the month!

I’ve challenged myself to post at least monthly, if only for the self-reflection.

Pinpointing my Happiness

A couple of weeks ago, I was bullshitting with someone at the gym about life in these crazy times, and I blurted out something without even thinking.

The only two places I’m happy anymore are here (at the gym) and cooking in my kitchen.

I was taken aback by my own statement.

Cooking Video Experiment

Hey guys!

I’ve decided it was time to blog something fun. Frankly, I’m tired of doing things for other people. I miss generating content and sharing ideas, especially in the kitchen.

So, today I came home from work and pulled out the camera. I wanted to see how recording in the new kitchen would work.

Then, I decided just to roll the camera and see what it looked liked while I cooked.

The Post Where I Wanted to Share a September Dinner Party Idea but Bore My Soul Instead

So… here I am after a long day of classes thinking it would help me feel better if I blogged about a recent dinner party.

It is not.
