For the past 18 years, I’ve called Seaside Heights home for one week each summer. My husband’s family has been going even longer, and I love that we have continued the tradition with our kids. My almost-8-year-old has gone 8 times and looks forward to it all year long.
When Sandy hit, I was beyond emotional. I couldn’t imagine how devastating the storm was for them. The photos were jaw-dropping. I wanted to help but wasn’t sure how, so I made a donation to Hurricane Sandy Jersey Relief Fund and vowed to go again this summer to support the community. I’m hoping to find some volunteer opportunities we can do as a family while we are there.
When Jen visited last week, I was relieved to hear some were hopeful but was still shocked at the photos. I don’t have digital images from every year I visited, but I thought I’d share a few shots from vacations past. Join me as I travel down memory lane at Seaside Heights New Jersey.
No kids yet! My 8th year visiting Seaside Heights already. We’ve been married for 2 and before then I’d go with my husband’s family every year they went, which is every year. 🙂
Still kid-less but not for long!
Ryan is just a month old for his first trip to Seaside!
From infant to toddler!
Old enough for rides!
Not a toddler any more, entering childhood.
Our first kite flying year! Now it’s a tradition as well.
Another year, another toddler.
We love you Seaside Heights. See you in a few months!
