Taking Care of Me (y02w35)

I don’t have much energy to process or write right now, but I wanted to pop in to keep up with my weekly goal.

Classes start Monday, and I’ve been battling some back/neck pain, digestive issues, and sleep issues.

I’ve still made it to the gym every day this week, mostly doing physical therapy-style workouts just to keep my back and neck moving. It helps so much.

OMG, I just realized I didn’t share my weightlifting competition from this past weekend! I did great!! WAY better than I expected, and it was such a boost of confidence.

This is what I shared on IG:

Has it Been a Week? (y02w34)

I’m not sure what is happening, but time seems to be flying by at warp speed.

I’m back on contract at the college this week, and I’m just trying to stay on top of my active projects and class prep.

Tomorrow I’m giving a presentation on how bad teaching hurts good teachers, and it’s really my way of venting about the current culture of education. I feel stuck between student apathy and a system that doesn’t seem to care about actually educating them. It’s stressful, exhausting, and somewhat scary.

But you know what, I refuse to let work infiltrate every aspect of my life, so enough about that!

Reestablishing Routine (y02w33)

I don’t have much in me today, and I feel a little out of sorts. Work has been ramping up as I prepare for the start of fall classes. I did get a little painting and a little guitar in, but not with the consistency I’d like.

Hello From The Beach! (y02w32)

It’s our family’s beach week, even though we’re only going for a long weekend this year.

As parents of older kids, it’s hard to plan an entire week when all four of us have our own schedules and responsibilities. Not to mention, it’s quite expensive to rent a beach house these days, so this year we decided to just do a long weekend.
