Food is Fuel, Not Therapy.

Sitting down to write this post, I couldn’t get the “fish are friends, not food” scene from Finding Nemo out of my head .

Hence the title.

Listen, food is a lot of things to me. I was “raised Italian,” as I like to say. Food is a central part of how I was shown love and how I continue to show love. There is nothing I’d rather do more than cook a nutritious meal for my friends and family. If you follow me on IG, you’d think it’s all I do.

Cooking feeds my soul on many levels. I enjoy its creative side and craftsmanship. I love learning about other cultures through food. I enjoy bonding with others around food. I just think there are so many reasons food should be enjoyed!

5 Movie Picks Brought to you by the Husbands Golf Trip

The Husband went away for his annual golf trip this past weekend, giving me a chance to watch whatever I wanted! This is a rare treat as he does not share my passion for horror movies.

In all honestly, my tolerance for movies is pretty high. I enjoy macabre-ish, dystopian, thriller, or horror. I also skew action, adventure, mystery, and crime. I like to escape reality with movies, and these genres do that for me.

So, I thought I’d share some of the movies I got a chance to watch while Mr. Picky-Movie-Watcher was away. These are all on Netflix currently.

A Japanese-Inspired Sommelier Deathmatch

FINALLY! I’ve been trying to share the details of my latest dinner party all week, but it’s been crazy around here. You’d think after classes end, I’d be a bit less swamped but nope. I got myself involved in too many projects at work, and they are all coming to a head right now.

Anyway, who wants to talk about work when we can talk about food?! For this month’s dinner party menu, I took inspiration from Japanese flavors or, at least, what I think of when I think Japanese. After a little bit of research, I settled on this:
