(Not) Another Miserable Monday

I am trying NOT to be miserable on Mondays.

I am!

However, I’m failing… well… miserably!

I know “they” say you shouldn’t work for the weekend, but that’s where I am right now. There are three weeks left in this semester, and I’m just trying to keep myself together.

Friday Food Stories

I still have not figured out the issue with my website causing yesterday’s error, but thankfully, I have a back door into my admin area through my hosting company. I already spent too much time trying to debug it, so I guess I’ll live with it for now.

Anyway, yesterday really was a good day. I try to recognize them when I have them because it’s too easy to focus on the negative. Like the weather right now. What in the world is going on?! I mean, I guess April isn’t historically the most fantastic weather month here in Maryland, but it feels like winter will not let go. I’m so tired of chilly, windy runs.

Now I Remember

Great day today!

Compared to yesterday, that is.

Everyone just got along. The kids were fun to talk to and not annoying in any way (like they usually are). No one had a meltdown or got angry. I was able to get a lot of work done. We made a great dinner and enjoyed some coconut margaritas.

Awesome! Right?

Turning Miserable into Grateful

Wow, what a miserable day.

Nothing, in particular, happened to make it any more miserable than any other day. I just have this constant feeling of, well, doom.

Gosh, that’s a harsh word, but I’m not sure I can come up with anything better to describe it. Sometimes the “doom feelings” creep in, and I can’t shake them. I’m basically on the verge of tears all day.

Tacos on Taco Tuesday

Taco Tuesday is somewhat a tradition in our house. We go through phases with it, but since my youngest eats pretty much anything in taco form (he’s picky otherwise), it’s pretty consistent.

This week I decided to go with Fish Tacos.

Mahi Mahi was our fish of choice. The Husband’s request, actually. He’s turning into quite the seafood guy in his old age. Anyway, I coated it in flour, cornmeal, dried dill, dried thyme, and dried garlic, then pan-fried it in some grapeseed oil.

Daily Brain Dumps

Do you know what I miss most about my old blogging days?

The daily brain dumps.

I find writing so therapeutic, but I don’t tend to do it unless I have the blog accountability. It’s kind of like playing the guitar. If I’m not actively taking lessons, I don’t tend to practice.

This is one of the things I hate about myself.
