What it means to be a blogger. . .

I stumbled across this post by Dave Winer and I nodded my way through it. I’ll quote him because I can’t say it any better myself…

“I don’t claim there’s any global significance to what I write here. I claim these are my own experiences, related as clearly as I know how to relate them. That’s all. Nothing more.”

Funny thing is I think we are more significant then we realize for sharing those experiences but I’ll save that for another post. :)

I started my blog for myself, for my own motivation. I never expected to impact anyone else, but I know I have from the amazing comments I have gotten. I still blog for me, but it is so much more enjoyable when I strike a chord or touch a reader or make someone laugh or make a new friend:)

Interesting quote and post in general. Global significance is hard. But just like in life, by talking to one another, by reflecting and sharing we absolutely do make a difference. Whether it's big or small our voices -- in person and online -- can resonate. I'll look forward to hearing your further thoughts on it.

I'm just a newbie blogger- more for my own record and have received some notes already that amaze me when I realize someone has read it and been inspired or laughed.

I think in times when so many of us are spread apart by space and time- we cling to our e-connections because we can identify so closely.
